What happened
Tenable is what auditors expect to see and the plugin coverage is comprehensive, particularly for OT-adjacent equipment where the alternatives were guessing. It is not cheap and the licensing model rewards you for knowing your asset count precisely, which is exactly the thing you bought it to find out.
Worked well
Plugin breadth including industrial gear. Audit-friendly reporting. Stable, predictable product.
Did not
Expensive at scale. Licensing counts assets you have not discovered yet. UI is functional rather than pleasant.
