What happened
We layered Abnormal on top of Microsoft 365 rather than replacing anything, and within the first month it flagged a supplier invoice change that had already passed the gateway. The behavioural model is the product and it works. It is an addition to your spend rather than a replacement, and you need Microsoft 365 to begin with.
Worked well
Behavioural detection genuinely catches business email compromise. No mail flow change to deploy. Clean interface.
Did not
Additive cost on top of an existing gateway. Requires Microsoft 365 or Google. Limited value if your BEC exposure is low.
