Pricing transparency thread. We are 900 endpoints, no compliance mandate beyond DPDP, and the quotes we received ranged by a factor of four for products that on paper do the same job.
I am not going to post a vendor's quoted number because of the NDA language, but I will say that the local vendors came in at roughly a third of the global EDR quotes, and the difference in what we would actually use day to day was smaller than that ratio suggests. Interested in how others in this bracket decided.

We are at 400 seats and went the other way, paying more for a global product, entirely because our largest customer's security questionnaire asked which EDR we run and had a list. That is not a security decision, it is a sales decision, and I would rather be honest that it was.

From the MSP side: the factor-of-four range is real and mostly reflects what happens at renewal rather than year one. Ask for year two and three pricing in writing before signing. The cheap first year with a large uplift is the most common pattern we see.

Anita from Seqrite here, disclosed. I will not quote prices in a public thread, but on the renewal point above: ask any vendor including us for multi-year pricing in the contract rather than a verbal assurance. If a vendor will not put year two in writing, that tells you what year two looks like.

Fair answer and appreciated. Multi-year in writing is going into our RFP template regardless of who wins.
